Regional Sales Director, Higher Education Academia (Central Region)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Regional Sales Director – Higher Education Academia (Central Region) to lead our Academia and Government Segment Sales division. You will oversee sales teams to achieve targets related to sales, revenue, account retention, and growth. Your responsibilities include developing sales strategies, maintaining customer relationships, and aligning team efforts with organizational goals. You will also influence the strategic direction of the sales department and contribute to overall business strategies.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 10+ years of industry experience in higher education, education technology, or research markets
  • At least 3 years in a sales leadership role
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Master’s degree in business administration or related field
  • Experience managing a territory with over $75 million in accounts
  • Proven track record in selling information services, solutions, or enterprise software
  • Strong revenue growth and deal management skills
  • Effective team performance management
  • Strategic relationship development and advanced negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems like Salesforce
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of approximately 6 sales professionals and coordinate with other teams
  • Lead and review team performance to meet operational targets
  • Influence stakeholders and drive policy acceptance
  • Shape strategic initiatives and contribute to organizational strategies
  • Provide coaching and developmental feedback to team members
  • Handle staffing decisions for your team
