Job Title: Regional Sales Director, Anesthesia

Reports To: Vice President, Sales Anesthesia

Location: Remote

About The Role

The Regional Sales Director, Anesthesia will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating sales activities in the assigned regional territory, focusing on Core Products and Endoscopy Airway products (call points include Anesthesia, Respiratory, Neurology, Cardiology, and Emergency Department). The role requires achieving sales and expense budgets within the region. Products outside the scope include Pulmonary, GI, ENT/URO, EMS lines.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed 100% of your Regional Sales Plan
  • Build a successful region by inspiring, motivating, supporting, managing performance, and planning sales activities of your team
  • Work with HR to hire, maintain, and, if necessary, terminate Sales Representatives
  • Maintain high communication levels with VP, President, HR, Marketing, and other support teams
  • Maximize hospital relationships by engaging with all stakeholders including Administration, clinical staff, supply chain, infection prevention, risk management, BioMed, Sterile Processing, etc.
  • Manage sales expense budgets, including personal and team expenses
  • Provide regular reporting, including monthly forecasts, demand planning, sample tracking, weekly activity reports, and pipelines
  • Ensure pipelines are robust and updated to align with sales plans
  • Forecast accurately and update CRM regularly
  • Present quarterly business reviews to management
  • Implement sales strategies for comprehensive region coverage and sales objectives
  • Maintain communication with distribution partners and other departments to achieve objectives and resolve issues
  • Investigate and document non-conforming processes or components, and report findings
  • Stay informed on industry developments through publications and abstracts
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with other Sales Division Leaders to optimize account coverage
  • Complete monthly forecasts
  • Travel overnight 70%+ to visit team members, distributors, prospects, customers, and attend meetings
Performance Criteria
  • Provide performance management and support to your team
  • Deliver high-quality service to clients
  • Maintain complete and accurate communication with your VP and sales team
  • Manage the region within expense limits
  • Ensure accuracy in documentation and timely reporting
  • Respond proactively to problems and ideas, aligning with corporate policies
  • Lead positively, fostering a productive work environment and demonstrating Ambu values
  • Advise on personnel and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs
Qualifications, Experience, And Skills
  • At least five (5) years in medical device sales, preferably in anesthesia and critical care
  • Previous sales management experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, with relevant experience
  • Proven sales achievement
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PPT, and CRM (Salesforce)
  • Model the Ambu values consistently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
