Job summary

ElectriCom in Florence, TX invites a Safety Specialist to support and coordinate our safety programs across utility construction projects. This remote/hybrid role works with the Senior Safety & Risk Manager and company leadership to develop and enforce policies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in construction safety, fluent English and Spanish, OSHA/DOT knowledge, and the ability to train staff, conduct audits, and lead investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in safety-related field.
• At least 3 years in construction safety with leadership experience.
• Fluent in English and Spanish for training and investigations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and applicable regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business software.
• First Aid/CPR Instructor certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with multitasking ability.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of days in Texas.
• Valid driver’s license and clean record.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and regulations governing safety in utility construction.
• Perform comprehensive jobsite safety audits and address hazards.
• Conduct and facilitate OSHA-required trainings and safety initiatives.
• Partner with Senior Safety & Risk Manager on incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety observations and communicate trends with leadership.
• Collaborate with Senior Safety & Risk Manager and operations to support safety culture.
• Develop and sustain company-wide safety initiatives and employee engagement.
• Plan, develop, and execute safety activities with guidance from the manager.
• Work independently with accountability for assigned responsibilities.
