Job summary

Monarch Steel Company of Alabama, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and manage safety programs across multiple sites in the region. You will promote a strong safety culture and work with operations to reduce incidents involving heavy equipment.

You will lead hazard assessments, train employees, and ensure OSHA compliance while coordinating inspections and audits. Some travel and a proactive, collaborative approach are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, steel, or heavy industrial environments.
• Multi-site experience is a strong plus.
• Steel industry knowledge and experience, a plus.
• OSHA 30-hour certification

Responsibilities

• Embraces the 1 T.E.A.M. culture.
• Implement and maintain company-wide safety policies and procedures.
• Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, and JSAs.
• Train team members on JSAs and safety topics.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations.
• Coordinate and support regulatory inspections and audits.
• Travel between facilities in region 25%-50%.
• Lead safety committee and conduct regular safety audits.
