Job summary

Global Experience Specialists, Inc. seeks a Regional Safety Manager to drive safety performance across offices, warehouses, and show-site operations.

The role partners with operations, labor relations, union partners, service partners, and leadership to identify risk, strengthen compliance, support incident prevention, and promote a proactive safety culture across fast-paced trade show and live event environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's preferred in safety/related field.
• Three to five years of safety-related experience required.
• OSHA knowledge required; DOT/EPA/claims knowledge preferred.
• Experience in union environments preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to establish and maintain safety procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and sites; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Serve as safety liaison during inspections and regulatory reviews.
• Monitor safety equipment readiness and emergency gear.

Job description

The Regional Safety Manager supports safety performance across assigned offices, warehouses, and show‑site operations. This role partners with operations, labor relations, union partners, service partners, and leadership teams to identify risk, strengthen compliance, support incident prevention, and promote a proactive safety culture across fast‑paced trade show and live event environments.

Responsibilities

Compliance and Risk Management

• Maintain working knowledge of applicable GES safety policies, OSHA requirements, DOT standards, and other federal, state, provincial, and local safety regulations relevant to assigned operations.
• Partner with division, department, facility, warehouse, and show‑site leaders to establish and maintain safety procedures that support regulatory and company compliance.
• Conduct routine inspections of GES facilities, equipment, work areas, and event sites to identify hazards, verify compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
• Serve as a safety liaison during agency inspections, inquiries, and compliance reviews, including OSHA or other applicable regulatory agencies.
• Monitor the availability, condition, and readiness of required safety and emergency equipment, including fire protection equipment where applicable.

Program Development and Continuous Improvement

• Support the development and implementation of safety programs, best practices, training materials, and field resources that align with GES standards.
• Evaluate job‑specific safety needs and recommend appropriate equipment, controls, and safe work practices for facilities and show‑site operations.
• Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of emergency action plans for assigned locations and events.
• Use safety data, inspection findings, incident trends, and operational feedback to identify improvement opportunities and reduce risk.

Incident Prevention and Safety Culture

• Promote safe working conditions and behaviors that help reduce injuries, illnesses, property damage, workers' compensation exposure, and general liability losses.
• Observe work practices, identify unsafe conditions or behaviors, and recommend practical corrective measures.
• Partner with local operations and leadership teams to support safety committees, campaigns, toolbox talks, and ongoing awareness activities.
• Collaborate with union partners, service partners, and internal stakeholders to reinforce safe work expectations across show‑site and facility operations.

Training

• Coordinate, deliver, and support safety‑related training for employees, supervisors, and operational teams.
• Train and coach teams on safe work practices, incident reporting, inspection processes, emergency response procedures, and applicable company safety programs.
• Assist supervisors and managers with evaluating safety concerns, employee recommendations, and complaints, and help determine appropriate corrective actions.

Investigations

• Lead or participate in incident, injury, near‑miss, and property damage investigations in accordance with company standards.
• Collect facts, document findings, identify contributing factors, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain availability to support urgent incident response needs when required by the business.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of GES safety, compliance, and operational objectives.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
• Three to five years of safety‑related experience required, preferably in live events, trade shows, warehousing, logistics, construction, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations required. Knowledge of DOT, EPA, workers' compensation, and claims management preferred.
• Experience working in a union environment preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong hazard recognition, risk assessment, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to investigate incidents, analyze root causes, and develop practical corrective actions.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, leaders, clients, service partners, and union partners.
• Ability to influence safe behaviors and build effective working relationships across multiple locations and teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use safety management, reporting, or data tracking systems.

Work Environment and Travel

This position supports a hybrid mix of remote work, office and warehouse environments, and frequent travel to show sites within the assigned region. Work may take place in convention centers, exhibition halls, outdoor areas, temporary structures, warehouses, and active event production environments. The role requires flexibility, sound judgment, and the ability to work safely and effectively in fast‑paced settings with changing priorities.
