Job description

Our team is looking to hire a Regional Safety Manager located in the Chicago, IL area.

Essential Functions:

1. Investigate accidents and injuries to determine root cause. Follow up with management on findings and recommendations.
2. Analyze accident/injury performance at each location and address locations performing below expectations.
3. Analyze individual driver safety and compliance performance and address as needed.
4. Oversee training for designated employees on DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations, including Hazardous Materials, Forklift, Fire Extinguisher, Lock out/Tag out, etc.
5. Oversee training for company-required safety topics and other related training.
6. Regularly inspect facilities and equipment, making recommendations for safety or security improvements.
7. Assist with special projects as needed.
8. Travel as needed to accomplish the duties listed above.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Minimum 3 years Transportation Safety experience or equivalent.
2. Must have or be willing to obtain a valid CDL Class A with Hazardous Material and Doubles/Triples endorsements.
3. Must have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record and safety record.
4. Must have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, and be able to understand and use web-based applications.
5. Must be able to present information effectively and communicate clearly to individuals or groups.
