Job summary

Pratt Logistics, LLC seeks a Logistics Regional Safety Manager to oversee driver training, equipment compliance, and regulatory adherence across the region. You will drive safety programs, coordinate audits, and manage post-accident processes to protect staff, assets, and company reputation.

Responsibilities include policy enforcement, inspections, accident analysis, OSHA/DOT compliance, and regional safety training. Travel within the region is frequent to facilities and plants as needed.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of CFR 29 and CFR 49.
• 5 years’ experience in the transportation industry in a safety role.
• Knowledge of all applicable safety rules and regulations – DOT, DMV, FMCSA, and OSHA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Enforce and manage policies in place
• Policy development and education
• Conduct periodic Safety inspections - facilities
• Record all accidents, incidents, from 1 st report to closure [all controlled, non-controlled, and mills]
• Obtain accident police reports and other documentation as required by DOT
• Analyze accident accruals and provide support w/ receiving, relaying estimates, and final invoices to Accounting
• Coordinate post-accident inspections and investigations
• Coordinate post-accident drug and alcohol screening - Foley
• Document preservation and discovery pertaining to litigation
• Injury response, reporting and investigation [controlled and non-controlled]
• Workers Compensation claims [controlled and non-controlled]
• Record OSHA 300 logs [controlled and non-controlled]
• Regulatory compliance
• Safety Training-Quarterly driver meetings
• Monitoring Safety performance [all controlled, non-controlled, and mills]
• Vehicle maintenance inspections (level 2)
• Analyze and identify areas of improvement in accidents, inspections, and citations and report data to operations and the Director of Safety
• Risk Assessment - communicate challenges and trends to operations
• Educate Operations of any new compliance and DOT regulation changes
• Review Safety Analytics, Videos and coach/develop drivers
• Support Smith System Training - Certified Smith System Driver Trainer
• DataQ all non-preventable accidents and incorrect violations
• Maintain DOT Accident Register
• Periodic Claims Review with Travelers rep – aging files and subrogation
• Facilitate DOT visits to plants
• DOT Roadside Inspections – coaching and development
• PPE audits – locations and drivers
• Support PPE inventory with locations
• Ride along observation with drivers
• Support Safety w/ issues for region pertaining to driver fitness (med certs, CDLs, and driver performance)
• Manage technology proficiency regarding Safety Analytics, Sentix, Instinct, and Foley
• Participate in weekly new hire orientation
• Pilot programs and various technology (i.e. Motive, Drivewyze)
• Implement and manage Safety Committees for drivers and dispatchers
• Issue training modules to drivers using Sentix (Quarterly campaign & corrective action as needed).
• Support other regions as well as the safety department staff when on vacations and out of office
• Participate as member of Safety Advisory Board Education and/or Work
