Job summary

Holland L.P. is seeking a Regional Safety Specialist to deliver proactive coaching, training and risk assessments for railroad contractor crews and fixed sites.

The role collaborates with North America operations managers to promote safe work practices and achieve the goal of zero injuries. Responsibilities include field assessments, training delivery, incident investigations, and driving corrective actions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Higher Education preferred
• 3-5 years of professional Safety experience in a field, railroad or construction setting
• Successful experience in developing and delivering safety training in group settings
• In depth knowledge of FRA and OSHA Regulations
• Proven knowledge of accident investigation fundamentals
• Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, most notably Excel and PowerPoint
• Must maintain a valid Drivers License and Passport, and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy
• Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine field assessment on MOW operations against Holland’s Risk Matrix to identify at risk behaviors and/or equipment deficiencies
• Ensure new hires are accurately trained and ensure all employees complete all designated training modules on schedule
• Provide coaching, mentoring, guidance and training to field teams and fixed locations
• Perform incident investigations, identify contributing factors, root cause analysis and develop and implement corrective actions
• Complete hands on training with field teams to ensure safety practices are understood and implemented
• Communicate out trends from Field Observations and drive corrective actions to reduce or eliminate those at risk trends
