Position Overview

Floating Retail Banker is an entry-level, frontline retail banking position responsible for supporting multiple branch locations, including St Cloud, Richmond, and Foley based on business needs, and is focused on transaction processing and customer service. This role processes routine banking transactions accurately and efficiently, educates customers on products and digital services, and assists with account maintenance and problem resolution across assigned locations. The Floating Retail Banker builds customer confidence by providing friendly, knowledgeable service while adapting to different branch environments and teams, identifying opportunities to deepen customer relationships within defined guidelines, and supporting branch goals while exercising sound judgment within established policies and procedures. Flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to travel between locations are essential to success in this role.

Position Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional service to customers in person, over the phone, and through other service channels
• Provide coverage across St Cloud, Richmond, and Foley locations based on staffing needs.
• Build positive relationships by listening to customer needs and delivering accurate, timely solutions
• Assist customers with questions, problem resolution, and everyday account needs
• Accurately process routine transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, cashier’s checks, and other account requests
• Verify customer identity, account information, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Balance cash drawer daily and maintain currency and coin within acceptable limits
• Assist customers with account servicing such as address changes, account maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
• Assist customers in opening consumer and business accounts.
• Support new account setup by helping customers understand products and services that fit their needs
• Educate customers on digital banking tools and self-service options to build confidence and improve their experience
• Maintain working knowledge of bank products, services, procedures, and updates to policy
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional products or services that align with customer needs and branch goals
• Perform operational tasks such as ATM balancing, branch capture, processing night depository, safe deposit box access, wire support, and maintaining accurate logs and records
• Complete quality checks on transactions and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Follow all bank policies, procedures, and security protocols, including opening and closing the branch
• Remain alert to potential fraud or suspicious activity and report concerns appropriately
• Use sound judgment and elevate issues when needed
• Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to support daily operations and customer needs
• Contribute to a positive team environment by being flexible, dependable, and willing to help others
• Participate in community events or outreach activities as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6–12 months of customer service experience required; banking or cash handling experience preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to build positive relationships and work well with others
• Attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling cash and processing transactions
• Ability to use sound judgment and recognize when to elevate concerns
• Comfortable using computers and basic office technology, including Microsoft Office and common office equipment (phone systems, scanners, printers, etc.)
• Ability to enter numerical and written data accurately and efficiently
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
