Qualifications

• BASIC EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: English grammar, reading and arithmetic; high school diploma acceptable.
• GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years in government purchasing methods, documentation, and procedures.
• SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year in purchasing of supplies, materials and equipment, understanding purchasing methods.
• CERTIFICATION: None required.
• LICENSURE: Hawai'i driver’s license Type #3 preferred.
• DESIRED SKILLS: Knowledge of government purchasing statutes and supply sources.
• ABILITY TO: follow purchasing procedures, prepare routine correspondence, and work with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Purchases a wide variety of goods, equipment, supplies, and materials for the Kaua'i Region.
• Oversees purchase orders, petty cash, or charge accounts; verifies receipts and resolves order issues.
• Verifies invoices, discounts, and shipping costs; coordinates with vendors to ensure correct delivery.
• May require extended hours, including weekends/holidays; travel within the region.
• Reports to the Contracts Manager II.
