Job summary

Walker Lovell is seeking an engineering leader to own capital projects across multiple western operations. You will guide projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with plant leadership to improve safety, reliability and performance.

You will influence major investments across the region and engage with senior operations. This role offers exposure to succession planning and a pathway into broader engineering or operations management.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree with strong project and technical capability.
  • Experience within heavy manufacturing, mining, minerals, cement or related process industries.
  • Ability to review engineering designs, specifications and contractor deliverables.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital projects from concept to commissioning.
  • Prepare project scopes, engineering specifications, cost estimates and capital requests.
  • Review engineering designs, contractor proposals and equipment selections.
  • Improve plant reliability through mechanical engineering and maintenance improvement initiatives.
  • Support operations teams with equipment upgrades, root cause investigations and continuous improvement projects.
  • Travel across multiple western operations, partnering closely with plant managers, maintenance teams and contractors.
