Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social services or related field and 4 years of paid social service experience across public child welfare domains.
• Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field and 5 years of paid social service experience across public child welfare domains.
• One year of experience as a Social Service Specialist 5.
• Nine years of paid social service experience with required coursework in Social Services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement work expectations for Region 1 Intake, Afterhours, and Homefinders units.
• Supervise professional social services and program manager staff.
• Ensure appropriate staffing for Region 1 units.
• Provide up-to-date job training and information to staff.
• Respond to staff and supervisor requests for reasonable accommodations.
• Set goals, develop standards, and evaluate programs and staff.
• Monitor progress toward state and federal child welfare outcomes.
• Manage units, budget, and program responsibilities within FTE allocation.
• Train, guide, and mentor staff.
• Represent DCYF with tribes and community groups; give public presentations on programs and issues.
• Build connections with DCYF offices within Region 1.
