Job summary

BHcare Inc. in Connecticut seeks a Prevention Specialist to join the Alliance for Prevention & Wellness (APW) with focus on the RSAB program.

You will engage 34 municipalities, lead needs assessments, capacity building, and planning, and deliver trainings on suicide prevention and youth wellbeing. The role requires collaboration with state and local partners, data collection for grants, and ongoing program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, Health Sciences, Education, Counseling, or related field.
• Experience or strong interest in substance misuse prevention and public health initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse community partners and stakeholders.
• CPS credential or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison to 34 municipalities in South Central CT and partner to facilitate needs assessment, capacity building and planning.
• Coordinate all aspects of assessment, capacity building, planning, and implementation of the regional workplan.
• Collect evaluation metrics supporting workplan and grant reports.
• Deliver engaging trainings and prevention programming; support coalition development.
• Develop and implement evidence-based prevention initiatives addressing substance misuse and mental health.
• Leverage social media and technology to support prevention and health promotion efforts.
• Ensure grant/contract compliance and monitor program objectives.
