Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior operations leader to guide veterinary practices through manager vacancies and to oversee hospital operations across the AVG network. You will drive change management, recruit regional managers, and ensure strong financial oversight with P&L, payroll, and inventory management.

Travel is extensive (about 90%), and you will liaise with marketing, IT, recruiting, and finance to support practice teams and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to veterinary practices during practice manager vacancies.
• Adapt to a variety of practice environments across the AVG network.
• Provide structure and leadership and focus on change management to develop and lead practice teams.
• Partner with the Regional Director of Operations to recruit and onboard permanent practice managers.
• Manage typical hospital placements lasting 60–90 days.
• Oversee day-to-day hospital operations at assigned locations.
• Serve as liaison between hospital teams and corporate support functions, including marketing, payroll, IT, recruiting, and finance.
• Recruit, develop, discipline, and terminate paraprofessional staff, including conducting annual performance reviews.
• Oversee hospital P&L, accounts payable/accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory.
• Resolve client issues and escalations and oversee follow-up communications.
• Partner with the Regional Director of Operations on assigned special projects.
