Description

Regional Veterinary Practice Manager ("PM Pro")

Are you an experienced veterinary practice manager who is looking to take your skills on the road? We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled veterinary practice manager to become our next professional practice manager or "PM Pro"!

About American Veterinary Group:

At American Veterinary Group (AVG), everything we do starts with our people and our values. We exist to support veterinary teams so they can focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional care to pets and the people who love them.

We partner closely with our hospitals, listening first and leading with trust. Our approach is rooted in nurturing relationships, acting with unwavering integrity, communicating transparently, pursuing growth, and embracing constant innovation. These values guide how we support our teams across operations, medical leadership, recruiting, training, marketing, finance, and HR, while preserving medical autonomy and the unique culture of each hospital.

Our hospitals are supported by a dedicated community of veterinarians, technicians, and support professionals who collaborate, learn from one another, and show up for their teams every day. As we continue to grow, our commitment remains the same: to build an environment where people feel supported, heard, and empowered to grow in their careers.

If you are looking for a place where values drive decisions and people come first, there is a seat at the table for you at AVG.

About the Position:

The PM Pro is a dynamic position within the American Veterinary Group (AVG) of hospitals and provides leadership and guidance to our veterinary practices when there is a practice manager vacancy at one of our clinics. The PM Pro must be a road warrior and able to adapt to a variety of practice environments as they support various clinics within the AVG network of practices.

In the absence of a permanent practice manager, the PM Pro provides structure, leadership, and focuses on change management to develop and lead the practice team. The PM Pro also works with the Regional Director of Operations to recruit and onboard a new practice manager to join the hospital team. Typical "placements" at our hospitals are 60-90 days as we work to hire and on-board a permanent practice manager for the team. The PM Pro is responsible for day-to-day hospital operations and serves as a liaison between the hospital team and our corporate support functions, including: marketing, payroll, IT, recruiting, finance, etc. This is a full-time corporate position reporting to the Regional Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

The PM Pro is responsible for day-to-day hospital operations at their assigned locations, and serves as a liaison between the hospital team and our corporate support functions, including: marketing, payroll, IT, recruiting, finance, etc.

  • People Management: recruiting, developing, disciplining, and terminating paraprofessional staff, including annual performance reviews
  • Financial Management: overseeing the hospital’s P&L, including accounts payable/accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory
  • Customer Service: resolving client issues and escalations and overseeing follow-up communications
  • Special Projects: the PM pro will work in partnership with the Regional Director of Operations on special projects, as assigned by leadership.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Prior veterinary experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. Will consider directly related experience in lieu of education.
  • A positive, can-do attitude; strong people skills/emotional intelligence; excellent analytical skills; willingness to roll up your sleeves and chip in to help the team.
Benefits
  • Opportunity for career advancement as AVG continues to grow and expand clinic locations throughout the country
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision Options)
  • 401k Match
  • Generous paid time off (PTO)
  • Paid Parental Leave + Paid Maternity Leave
  • One (1) Work/Life Balance day off
  • Short-term and long-term disability options
  • Supplemental insurance options
  • Discounted Veterinary Care
  • Scrub allowance
  • Hands-on and E-training
