American Veterinary Group (AVG) seeks a Regional Veterinary Practice Manager (PM Pro) to lead hospital operations across clinics. This role requires travel and on-site support at multiple hospitals, reporting to the Regional Director of Operations.

The PM Pro will recruit and onboard new managers, maintain daily operations, and partner with marketing, payroll, IT, recruiting, and finance to ensure smooth hospital performance. Expect 60–90 day placements as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required.
• Positive, can-do attitude with strong people skills and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day hospital operations at assigned locations and liaise with corporate support functions (marketing, payroll, IT, recruiting, finance).
• Recruit, onboard, and develop hospital staff; lead performance reviews and personnel decisions.
• Manage the hospital’s P&L, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and inventory.
• Lead special projects with Regional Director of Operations and support the onboarding of new practice managers.

Regional Veterinary Practice Manager ("PM Pro")

Are you an experienced veterinary practice manager who is looking to take your skills on the road? We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled veterinary practice manager to become our next professional practice manager or "PM Pro"!

This role requires extensive travel (approximately 90%), with the majority of time spent onsite supporting hospitals across the nation. While the role is posted in select regional hub locations to support travel efficiency, the position itself is not tied to a single market.

About the Position

The PM Pro is a dynamic position within the American Veterinary Group (AVG) of hospitals and provides leadership and guidance to our veterinary practices when there is a practice manager vacancy at one of our clinics. The PM Pro must be a road warrior and able to adapt to a variety of practice environments as they support various clinics within the AVG network of practices.

In the absence of a permanent practice manager, the PM Pro provides structure, leadership, and focuses on change management to develop and lead the practice team. The PM Pro also works with the Regional Director of Operations to recruit and onboard a new practice manager to join the hospital team. Typical 'placements' at our hospitals are 60-90 days as we work to hire and on-board a permanent practice manager for the team. The PM Pro is responsible for day-to-day hospital operations and serves as a liaison between the hospital team and our corporate support functions, including: marketing, payroll, IT, recruiting, finance, etc.

This is a full-time corporate position reporting to the Regional Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

The PM Pro is responsible for day-to-day hospital operations at their assigned locations, and serves as a liaison between the hospital team and our corporate support functions, including: marketing, payroll, IT, recruiting, finance, etc.

• People Management: recruiting, developing, disciplining, and terminating paraprofessional staff, including annual performance reviews
• Financial Management: overseeing the hospital’s P&L, including accounts payable/accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory
• Customer Service: resolving client issues and escalations and overseeing follow-up communications
• Special Projects: the PM pro will work in partnership with the Regional Director of Operations on special projects, as assigned by leadership.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. Will consider directly related experience in lieu of education.
• A positive, can-do attitude; strong people skills/emotional intelligence; excellent analytical skills; willingness to roll up your sleeves and chip in to help the team.
