Job summary

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) is seeking a Regional Planning Program Manager to support the Department of Community and Economic Services (DCES) in leading professional activities that advance metropolitan planning and regional priorities.

In this role, the Manager will guide analyses, forecasting, land use and economic development studies, collaborate with member jurisdictions, present findings to the COG Board, supervise staff and manage consultants, and ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field with strong urban/regional planning background.
• Eight (8) years (Bachelor) or six (6) years (Master) of relevant planning experience.
• Experience leading regional planning programs and working with multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional trend analysis on land use, demographics, employment, and transportation.
• Oversee forecasting programs, review methodologies, and finalize forecasts.
• Prepare documents on forecasting and economic analysis.
• Develop REMS reports and dashboards with data visualization.
• Coordinate with DCES and other departments on land use and economic initiatives.
• Manage staff, contracts, budgets, and project schedules.
• Provide staff leadership to advisory committees and subcommittees.
