Job summary

Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) is seeking a Program Manager to guide local governments and planning partners in implementing Metro Vision, DRCOG’s long‑range plan for the Denver region. The role leads a team of planners, coordinates technical assistance, and fosters collaboration among member governments and stakeholders.

The position emphasizes leadership in planning practice, budget management, and advisory support to the executive team, with a focus on delivering quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, geography, public administration or directly related field; five to seven years of experience; two years of supervisory experience.
• AICP certification preferred; experience with regional planning is advantageous.
• Roles involve management principles, strategic planning, budgeting, and governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff by prioritizing and assigning work; conduct performance evaluations; ensure training and policy compliance.
• Lead programs and projects, coordinate and evaluate goals, policies, and service offerings.
• Develop and oversee budgets; allocate resources and monitor expenditures.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners; manage contracts and communication.
• Advise executive leadership; review records, reports and contracts; provide recommendations.
• Provide technical leadership in urban and regional planning; support Metro Vision updates.
• Prepare and deliver reports and presentations on regional planning topics.
