Job Description

The American Red Cross is seeking a Regional Philanthropy Officer – Individual Giving to support the Indiana Region. As a Regional Philanthropy Officer you will meet fundraising goals, grow and retain individual donors, and stem current and prospective regional donors to increase their support for the American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Work with the local fundraising team to develop and execute ongoing regional strategy for qualifying donors, ensuring retention, growth of donor contributions, and recapture from previous donors; collaborate with other departments and fundraising staff to create customized solicitation strategies.
• Solicit assigned donor portfolios through face‑to‑face visits and virtual meetings, preparing personalized materials.
• Meet personal annual revenue targets with an assigned portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Implement a program to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors at $5,000 or higher, maximizing revenue for the American Red Cross.
• Maintain donor records within Salesforce.
• Assist donors in creating meaning in their lives by giving to the American Red Cross.
• Participate in disaster relief fundraising projects as appropriate.
• Work from home with occasional in‑person meetings at the local office.

Pay Information

Salary range: $77,000 – $83,000 per year plus yearly incentive. Salary may vary based on geographic location, skills, experience, and comparison to other employees in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; minimum five years of sales and/or fundraising experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience developing strategies for donor retention, growth, and recapture, with demonstrated success on complex requests.
• A valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce.com).
• Ability to work on a team in a collaborative environment and provide high customer service orientation.
• Frequent travel within the Indiana Region required.
