Job summary

Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking a remote Senior Medical Affairs professional to deliver health economics and outcomes data to regional payers across CA, OR, WA, and Idaho.

You will lead medical strategy, collaborate with RAMs, and drive payer education using unbranded resources to improve patient outcomes. Qualifications

• Advanced degree required; Doctoral degree strongly preferred in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biological Sciences, Health Services Research or Public Health.
• 5+ years of Managed care or similar experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Understanding and knowledge of current US healthcare system at a regional level.
• Knowledge of clinical and pharmacoeconomic concepts including modeling, real-world evidence, health outcomes and clinical trial designs.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work effectively in a continually evolving environment.
• Demonstrates the Patient first mindset and the ability to gain insights and identify customer needs and opportunities.
• Strategic thinking combining business acumen and clinical expertise.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrates behaviors aligned with the Otsuka core values including perseverance, unconventional thinking, and humility.
• Willingness to travel (60-80% travel time); territory includes CA, OR, WA and Idaho; must reside in one of these states.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based healthcare economic and clinical information demonstrating the value of Otsuka’s portfolio for regional accounts including Medicaid, insurers, PBMs, and IDNs.
• Deliver health outcomes data to regional payers and identify partnership opportunities in collaboration with GVRWE.
• Lead development and execution of medical strategy for regional accounts in alignment with RAMs and medical imperatives; develop state profile tools.
• Collaborate with payer stakeholders to educate and improve patient outcomes using unbranded resources and remote engagement platforms.
• Create and grow relationships with regional payer decision makers and understand access challenges and payer landscape.
• Attend congresses to understand healthcare landscape and interact with key decision makers.
• Gather payer perceptions on products and formulary drivers; provide insights to leadership.
• Communicate developments in regional payer landscape to leadership and ecosystem partners; implement improvements.
• Serve as regional cultural ambassador within FMA across therapeutic areas.
• Adhere to all applicable policies and procedures; conduct interactions with payers and stakeholders compliantly.
