Job summary

Patient Funding Alternatives (PFA) is seeking a Patient Advocate Specialist Supervisor to lead on-site hospital teams identifying, educating, and enrolling eligible patients in the HIPP program and related financial assistance initiatives.

The role focuses on inventory oversight, performance management, and coaching to meet departmental goals while aligning with national objectives. A strong background in healthcare operations and Spanish proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in patient advocacy, healthcare revenue cycle, or related healthcare operations, including 2+ years in a supervisory or people-management role.
• Prior experience with HIPP, Medicaid/Medicare eligibility, or employer-sponsored benefits coordination programs.
• Prior experience supervising staff across multiple hospital sites or a defined multi-site region.
• Formal supervisory, leadership, or HR-adjacent training or certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
• Full bilingual proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee team inventory to ensure cases are prioritized, assigned, monitored, and advanced in alignment with goals.
• Monitor team workload, productivity, documentation quality, and barriers to ensure timely follow-through and consistent execution across hospital sites.
• Partner with leadership to establish performance benchmarks, review metrics, and analyze enrollment trends.
• Provide regular coaching, performance evaluations, and development for team members; escalate where needed.
• Manage performance concerns through documentation, coaching plans, and HR-aligned corrective action.
• Foster relationships with hospital administration, state agencies, and community partners to support enrollment and compliance.
• Participate in national committees to enhance leadership development and organizational visibility.
