Job summary

County of Santa Clara is seeking a Parks Program Coordinator for the Outdoor Recreation Program to design, develop, coordinate, and implement outdoor recreation classes, programs, and events across the county.

You will manage budget needs, collaborate with partners, staff, and volunteers, and represent the department at community events. Strong planning, communication, and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and two years coordinating programs or leading large-scale events.
• Experience designing, developing, planning, coordinating outdoor recreational programs and events for public or private providers.
• Ability to travel and possess valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate park programs, special events, outreach activities, and day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate interactions with partners, volunteers, staff, contractors, licensees, and lease-holders.
• Develop recommendations to improve park programs, events, and community outreach.
• Schedule, train, and supervise staff, volunteers, and docents.
• Recruit, orient, evaluate, and recognize volunteers and contractors.
• Assist in development and implementation of service agreements and contracts.
• Prepare reports and market materials related to programs.
