Our parks stretch from the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains to the cliffs and sandy beaches along the Pacific Ocean.

Santa Cruz County Parks is hiring two Park Planners to oversee planning studies and capital projects through all phases of development, from property acquisition to construction. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and energetic team helping to shape the future of the County’s 70 parks, coastal access points, and open spaces. Our parks stretch from the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains to the cliffs and sandy beaches along the Pacific Ocean.

The Park Planning team is currently managing a portfolio of 38 active planning and capital improvement projects, including developing an environmental education center on the North Coast, sea level rise adaption planning along East Cliff Drive, a master plan for the newly acquired Valle del Pajaro County Park, replacing the waterslide at Simpkins Swim Center, the restoration of Freedom Lake, and building two new natural play areas.
