Responsibilities

  • Promote branch improvements through high-quality member service and professionalism.
  • Perform basic paying and receiving functions and handle deposits and withdrawals.
  • Safeguard cash and adhere to cash limits and dual-control procedures.
  • Balance cash, vault cash, and related transactions daily.
  • Identify sales opportunities and refer banking products and services.
  • Open new depository accounts in accordance with regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies (BSA, Reg CC, Reg D, Reg E, etc.) and ensure compliance.
  • Process mail/night depository work and related duties.
  • Balance ATM and coin counter, issue cashier checks, money orders and gift cards.

Oversee operation of branch location to ensure accurate, high-quality service to meet needs of membership. Branch lead for operations, MSR support, member services, + daily operational efficiency. Provide leadership, guidance to MSRs by assigning tasks, tech support + ensure all activities are performed. Utilize knowledge of branch procedures + policies to deliver exemplary service, foster sales + service aligned w/ credit union's business goals, + motive staff through participation in branch incentive programs. Responsible for ensuring branch is adequately staffed. Approve staffing schedules. Develop + implement training plans + provide feedback. Maintain working knowledge of Credit Union's written policies + procedures that apply to areas of position’s responsibility such as Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation E, Bank Security and relevant Federal + State regs. Provide financial products + services to new + existing members + monitor new + closed activity for respective branches. Gather + verify data + info for reports to respond to problems or inquiries + help resolve acct problems. Handle transactions + member requests. Complete req’d branch duties, reports, specific assignments + other responsibilities. Monitor + direct lobby traffic, asst w/ calls + ensure positive member exp. Communicate issues needing attention to Sr. Management + prov potential ideas for effective resolution + follow through to successful completion. Work w/ members of management regarding employee development, resolving staff + member issues. Maintain visibility within branch operations environment + reinforce corp vision + direction. May undergo background checks incl credit check. Must have HS Diploma and 2 years relevant financial institution and member service experience; and required skills (2 years exp) in: financial core computer; and functioning in a supervisory role.

Job Purpose: Provides superior service to our existing and/or prospective members both in person and over the phone with demonstrated professionalism. Assists members with a wide variety of financial needs such as processing deposits and withdrawals, cashing checks, transferring funds, cash advances, loan and credit card payments, and account maintenance. Opens new depository accounts. Explains, promotes, cross-sells or refers products and services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Promote the improvement of Dakota West Credit Union through quality member service, promotion of products professionalism in conduct and diligent work ethic.
  • Perform basic paying and receiving functions including cashing drafts, handling deposits, share savings/checking withdrawals, loan and escrow accounts. Handle transaction efficiently and professionally. Balance Cash ins and outs.
  • Safeguard assigned cash/currency at all times: adheres to cash limits. Adhere to dual control procedure as defined by policy. Balance currency and coin.
  • Buy and sell cash internally to and from vault supply. Balance vault cash: prepared income and outgoing shipments.
  • Use effective listening and observing skills to help identify and resolves member needs. Effectively handles member questions and problems.
  • Spot sales opportunities and refer business consistently. Cross-sell other services whenever the opportunity arises
  • Opens new depository accounts in accordance with state and federal regulations as well as DWCU’s internal policy.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Credit Union’s written policies and procedures that apply to and concern this position’s area of responsibility, including general regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation D and Regulation E, Bank Security and various other Federal and State regulations as they apply.
  • Process mail and night depository work, process cash advances.
