Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Operations Leader to drive multi-terminal transportation and fleet operations in California. You will own P&L, lead Driver Managers, Dispatchers, Administrative teams, Drivers, and Dock personnel, and push performance across on-time delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Travel up to 50% is required as you partner with Safety, Maintenance, HR, Recruiting and Payroll to optimize staffing, costs, and process improvements while adopting key tech like McLeod,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations.
• Experience managing multiple locations and departments.
• P&L management and budget oversight.
• Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and transportation safety regulations.
• Data-driven approach to improving operational performance.
• Leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Customer relationship management and strong communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and transportation management systems.
• Ability to travel up to 50% and respond to operational needs after hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Driver Managers, Dispatchers, Administrative teams, Drivers, and Dock personnel across multiple terminals.
• Own operational and financial performance, including P&L, of the assigned region.
• Drive KPIs including on-time delivery, scanning efficiency, customer satisfaction, and operational productivity.
• Build customer partnerships through business reviews, dealership visits, and performance discussions.
• Identify operational challenges, develop action plans, and improve underperforming locations.
• Partner with Safety, Maintenance, HR, Recruiting, and Payroll.
• Reduce operating costs through labor management, fuel optimization, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, company safety policies, and maintenance standards.
• Coach and mentor leadership teams through EOS L10 meetings, quarterly Rocks, and continuous development.
• Promote effective use of McLeod, Samsara, Tenstreet, customer portals, and other operational technologies.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop talent aligned with TCI's Core Values.
• Travel throughout the assigned region, up to 50%, to support operations and customers.

Requirements

• Ability to improve operational performance through data-driven decision making

• High proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and transportation management systems
• Ability to prioritize and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
• Willingness to respond to operational needs outside normal business hours when necessary
