Job summary

Florida Department of Juvenile Justice in Tallahassee is seeking an experienced DJJ Operations Consultant (SES) to supervise regional office staff providing administrative support to detention centers, focusing on HR and fiscal functions.

You will mentor superintendents, develop program monitoring methods, review budgets, and ensure compliance with JJIS, SharePoint, Tableau, and related systems. The role requires strong leadership and collaboration across regional teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
• Knowledge of detention services policy and procedure.
• Knowledge of Department, State and Federal policy and procedure relating to operation of a Juvenile Detention Center.
• Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
• Ability to prioritize workload and plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in the regional office that provide administrative support to detention centers with HR and fiscal focus.
• Represent the Regional Director in administrative matters and monitor completion of assignments.
• Provide mentoring and technical assistance to Superintendents on administrative issues.
• Review center compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Review and monitor Hiring, Retention, Food Service, Medical and Mental Health Services reports and advise on corrective actions.
• Perform site visits to detention centers and coordinate with staff and Superintendents.
