Job summary

Ascend Vision Partners in Orlando is seeking a strategic and clinical operations leader to steer a multi-site ophthalmology/optometry footprint, including four clinics and a busy ASC. You will drive efficiency, patient satisfaction, and growth across the network.

You will partner with providers to optimize schedules, standardize processes, manage budgets, and mentor clinic management. The role requires data-driven decision making and strong communication with physicians and executives.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading multi-site medical practices (ophthalmology/optometry preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field.
  • LEAN Six Sigma or process-improvement certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations across 4 clinical sites and a multi-room ASC to optimize patient flow and utilization.
  • Partner with ophthalmologists and optometrists to align schedules and improve productivity.
  • Standardize procedures, manage budgets, and drive KPI improvements (wait times, utilization, revenue cycle).
  • Hire, mentor and retain clinic managers and support staff to build leadership pipeline.

We are a premier, rapidly expanding ophthalmology practice looking for a strategic and clinical operations expert to steer our multi‑site regional footprint. This isn’t a passive monitoring role—you will be the operational engine driving efficiency, patient satisfaction, and growth across four state-of-the-art clinics and a bustling, 4‑room Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).

Managing a massive patient volume of up to 100,000 visits per year, you will bridge the gap between world‑class clinical care and peak business performance.

1. Multi‑Site & ASC Operational Excellence
  • Optimize patient flow across 4 clinical locations to seamlessly manage 80,000+ annual visits.
  • Maximize ASC utilization, ensuring surgical scheduling, staffing, and room turnovers run like clockwork across all 4 operating rooms.
  • Standardize operating procedures across all sites to ensure consistent, premium patient care and regulatory compliance.
2. Provider Support & Capacity Management
  • Partner with 8–10 providers (Ophthalmologists and Optometrists) to optimize schedules and maximize clinical productivity.
  • Alleviate administrative friction for providers, allowing them to focus entirely on top‑tier patient outcomes.
  • Align clinical and administrative teams to create a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
3. Financial & Metrics‑Driven Leadership
  • Manage the regional budget, overseeing labor costs, medical supplies, and operational capital expenses.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Drive improvement in patient wait times, slot utilization, surgery cancellation rates, and overall revenue cycle integration.
  • Staff development: Hire, mentor, and retain clinic managers and support staff, building a robust leadership pipeline.
Requirements
  • High‑Volume Healthcare Leader: You have a proven track record managing multi‑site medical practices (Ophthalmology, Optometry, or specialized surgical practices are highly preferred).
  • ASC Savvy: You understand the unique compliance, scheduling dynamics, and operational flow of an Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • Master of Efficiency: You don't just see bottlenecks; you systematically eliminate them using data and workflow redesign.
  • An Inspiring Communicator: You know how to build trust with physicians, command respect from corporate executives, and motivate frontline clinic staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field, or minimum of three (3) years of healthcare, ophthalmology or related experience and minimum of one (1) year of relevant leadership/management experience.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED
  • LEAN Six Sigma certification or other recognized process‑improvement certification preferred.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY OF POSITION
  • Talking. This position requires expressing or exchanging ideas through the spoken word. This position must participate in activities to convey detailed or essential verbal instructions to physicians, staff, and vendors accurately and succinctly.
  • Hearing. This position is required to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, including the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make the discriminations in sound.
  • Repetitive motion. This position requires substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and fingers while working on reports or the computer.
  • Sedentary work. This position may need to occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The job consists primarily of sedentary work and involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
  • Visual Requirements. This position is required to have close visual acuity (with or without correction) to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading.
  • Environmental Conditions. This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office work.)
