Job summary

DHI Communities, a division of D.R. Horton, Inc., seeks a Multifamily-Construction Director to lead regional construction activities.

The role oversees project management and field personnel, ensuring work aligns with drawings, code, and contract scope while supporting development, design, purchasing, and property management collaboration. The candidate will manage budgets, confirm schedules, and optimize subcontractor performance while maintaining safety and quality controls across projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Seven years or more of related construction experience.
• Must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all regional construction personnel and activity.
• Ensure construction is performed according to code, drawings, and contract scope.
• Review drawings to optimize design and suggest value engineering opportunities.
• Oversee Project Managers in budgeting and monthly budget reviews.
• Advise on subcontractor selections and buy-out processes.
• Monitor schedules and drive performance to minimize construction timelines.
• Interact with Scheduling Team to create realistic baseline schedules.
