Job summary

Cathay Bank is seeking a subject matter expert in mortgage lending to support SCA Regions 3/4 branches, travel as needed, and ensure high-quality client service and fee income growth.

You will guide less experienced bankers, process loan applications from initial approval to closing, and coordinate with underwriters, real estate partners, and closing agents to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Organized and detail oriented with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of bank credit policies and loan approval processes; bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to assigned branches to assist clients with residential mortgages.
• Assist clients to complete loan applications and move files from approval to closing.
• Act as liaison between branches, underwriters, and closing agents.
• Follow up on outstanding loan conditions and resolve processing issues.
• Ensure timely and accurate loan processing and documentation.
• Maintain pipeline reports and notify management of status as needed.
• Assist in cross-selling bank products and services.
• Organize mortgage seminars and participate with real estate partners for referrals.
• Network with real estate agents for referrals.
