Job summary

Indiana University Health laboratories are seeking a Medical Laboratory professional to perform tests on patient specimens and support diagnosis and treatment.

Role requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences, plus 1 year of experience and expected certification within 12 months. You will maintain quality records, use lab equipment, and assist in procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment (ASCP/AMT/NCA/ACHI or equivalent).
• If certification is not achieved, role may downgrade to Technician-Medical Laboratory depending on business need.
• Ability to maintain quality control and records.
• Ability to use computer to enter and retrieve test results.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on patient specimens to aid diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of diseases.
• Maintain performance records and ensure test results meet quality control standards.
• May participate in research and development activities and assist staff as needed.
• Instruct students, staff, and others on laboratory procedures and techniques.
• Comply with all laboratory safety regulations and SOPs.
