Qualifications

• Certification must be obtained within 12 months or downgrade may apply.
• Knowledge of complex laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of specialized testing equipment and routine maintenance.
• Ability to maintain quality control and records.
• Ability to use computer to enter and retrieve test results.
• Analytical skills to make quantitative and qualitative observations.
• Ability to work independently; handle interruptions and concurrent tasks.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests on patient specimens to aid diagnosis, treatment or prevention.
• Maintains records of performance and quality control.
• May participate in research and development activities and act as a resource for staff.
