The Episcopal Diocese of Texas is seeking a part-time, exempt Missioner for Small Congregations to support healthy, growing congregations in a diverse region. The role involves living in the served area and traveling roughly one day per week to local congregations or partners.

Responsibilities include listening to lay leaders, initiating connections with partners, collaborating with churches, facilitating gatherings, preaching the gospel, discerning, and adapting to evolving regional needs.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of leadership experience in church contexts.
• Ordination in the Episcopal Church or a church in communion may be required, depending on geographic area.
• Ability to gather community for discernment and initiate local ministry.

Responsabilités

• Listening to lay leaders about vision, gifts and local service.
• Initiating work with lay leaders to connect them with community partners.
• Collaborating with congregations and community partners in their local context.
• Facilitating group gatherings and coordinating logistics.
• Preaching in word and deed the gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed through Scripture.
• Discerning prayerfully and equipping others to discern individually and collectively.
• Adapting to changes of role or expectations as the position evolves.
