Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a skilled mining/geology professional to lead safety initiatives, regional and site mine planning, and data-driven design. You will manage projects, perform cost analyses, and coordinate with field teams across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have a BS in geology/mining/engineering, 3–5 years of related experience, and proficiency with CAD and GPS tools. Strong communication and leadership abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in geology, mining, or related engineering/technical field.
• 3–5 years of progressive technical responsibility in a surface mining environment; leadership a plus.
• Experience with CAD-based software and GPS surveying equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Safety: active involvement in safety programs and ensure highest safety standards.
• Mine Planning (Regional): develop regional mine plans and train sites on standards and tools.
• Mine Planning (Site): lead quarry/mining team with plans, revisions, and models.
• Technical Design / Data Analysis: gather, sort, analyze data to inform designs and cost models.
• Project Management: scope development, CAPEX planning, contractor vetting, team roles.
• Site Visits / Audits: conduct inspections, audits, and on-site support as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
