Job summary

Merck seeks a Growth and Improvement minded Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Immunology to support scientific exchange and drive strategic priorities. The credentialed Director-level Medical Affairs leader will engage with national and regional scientific leaders, provide balanced medical information, and lead investigator-initiated research while adhering to GCP and SOPs.

Travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO or MD required with credentialing.
• Three years Immunology (IBD) experience beyond degree program.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of FDA/HIPAA/ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Scientific Exchange: develop relationships with national/regional SLs and provide access to approved medical information.
• Research: discuss AOI strategies, investigator-initiated research and site/select investigator discussions.
• Scientific Congress Support: engage in scientific meetings and data exchange.
• Scientific Insights: gather feedback to understand medical needs and priorities.
• Inclusive Mindset: promote belonging, integrity, and inclusion across teams.
