Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director in the United States to serve as a therapeutic expert and medical contact for Scientific Leaders. You will facilitate scientific exchange, support investigator-initiated studies, and align activities with global medical strategy.

Responsibilities include leading discussions with external stakeholders, identifying investigator sites, and contributing to congress activities while upholding highest standards of ethics and compliance.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond terminal degree.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA regulations and ethics in pharma.

Responsibilities

• Engage in scientific exchange with national and regional SLs and provide company-approved information.
• Lead research discussions, identify investigators, and support AOI alignment with strategy.
• Support scientific congresses and gather insights to inform medical strategy.
• Promote inclusive culture, onboard colleagues, and model leadership behavior.
