Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) who is a credentialed therapeutic and disease expert.

The role engages in bidirectional scientific dialogue with Scientific Leaders and provides balanced information on non-product areas of interest to the Company. Responsibilities include scientific exchange, research, congress support, and insights; travel up to 50% within the US territory; requires PhD/MD/DO etc and 3+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant therapeutic area experience beyond the terminal degree program.
• Ability to conduct doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.
• Strong focus on scientific education and dialogue.

Responsibilities

• Engages with national and regional SLs to share approved medical information.
• Conducts peer-to-peer scientific discussions with SLs and maintains a medical contact within the company.
• Addresses SL inquiries on issues outside RMSD scope to appropriate resources.
• Leads protocol discussions with GCTO and identifies sites for trials, aiding enrollment milestones.
• Supports scientific congresses and data exchange for company and external data.
• Gathers feedback to understand medical needs and priorities of SLs and patients.
