Job summary

Stoke Therapeutics is seeking a Regional Medical Director, Value and Access to lead the regional medical value strategy and engage payers, PBMs, IDNs, and HTA bodies. The role emphasizes unbiased scientific exchange, real-world evidence, and regional priority setting.

Based remotely in the US with 50–70% travel, you will partner with Field Medical, Market Access, HEOR/RWE, and Regulatory to shape regional medical objectives and lifecycle plans while upholding compliance and scientific integrity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in Medical Affairs, payer medical engagement, Market Access, HEOR/RWE, clinical development, managed care, or a related pharma/biotech function.
• Formal training or demonstrated expertise in health economics, outcomes research, population health, managed care, epidemiology, or health policy strongly preferred.
• Advanced clinical or scientific degree from a recognized program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional stakeholder engagement plan with medical, evidence, and corporate priorities.
• Build peer-to-peer scientific relationships with senior clinical and population-health leaders across payers, PBMs, IDNs, ACOs, and HTA bodies.
• Serve as the senior scientific contact for complex payer questions, including pre-launch and launch engagements.
• Lead balanced, non-promotional exchange on disease state, clinical data, guidelines, safety and efficacy, and HEOR/RWE.
• Plan and run payer advisory boards and scientific forums; capture insights for action.
• Represent Medical Affairs at regional and national payer meetings and external forums.
• Lead regional communication of the totality of evidence including efficacy, safety, and budget impact.
• Develop and maintain payer-facing scientific materials and evidence summaries.
• Translate complex evidence into clear decision-relevant narratives for payers.
• Keep resources current and rigorous.
• Own the regional medical value plan and contribute to lifecycle planning and resource allocation.
• Gather insights on unmet needs, evidence expectations, coverage changes, and competitive dynamics.
• Escalate regional trends to Medical Affairs leadership and governance.
• Translate insights into medical strategy, publications, and education.
• Provide regional leadership across Medical Affairs, Market Access, HEOR/RWE, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Policy, and more.
• Lead cross-functional workstreams for launch planning, payer evidence, and medical education.
• Coach and mentor colleagues; manage budgets and external partners.
• Identify payer-relevant evidence gaps and partner on HEOR/RWE and data partnerships.
• Initiate payer research collaborations and RWE projects.
• Provide input into publications, congress communications, and medical information.
• Operate in accordance with laws, policies, and SOPs.
• Maintain separation between scientific exchange and promotion.
• Document and manage insights and transfers of value.
