Job summary

Qualifications

• Medical degree with unrestricted Oklahoma license.
• Board certification required; ABMS preferred.
• Two years of physician experience in a state facility or related environment.
• Experience supervising physicians and other medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete physical examinations on persons in state custody.
• Directs lab and x-ray procedures and interprets results.
• Prescribes treatment and therapy.
• Supervises care to patients in infirmary.
• Provides emergency care as appropriate in health care unit.
• Evaluates complex medical problems for state custody patients.
• Refers cases to specialty clinics or hospitals.
• Coordinates mental health care with psychiatrists/psychologists.
• Maintains charts and final discharge summaries.
• Develops care protocols for other providers.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Supervises lower-level physicians and staff.
