Job summary

Peaks Healthcare seeks an experienced Regional MDS Nurse to provide clinical assessment support across multiple skilled nursing communities. You will partner with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate resident assessments, regulatory compliance, and optimal clinical outcomes.

Travel to assigned facilities for on-site consultation, coaching, and training; oversee timely MDS assessments, educate staff on MDS requirements, coding accuracy, and reimbursement

Qualifications

• Must have a nursing degree (ADN or BSN)
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience in long-term care
• Demonstrated expertise with MDS assessments and RAI process requirements
• Understanding of reimbursement methodologies in long-term care
• Strong knowledge of federal/state regulations governing long-term care

Responsibilities

• Oversee timely and accurate completion of MDS assessments across multiple locations
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and payer guidelines for resident assessments and reimbursement
• Educate and coach facility teams on MDS requirements, coding accuracy, and documentation standards
• Review data and quality metrics to identify trends and compliance concerns
• Communicate regulatory updates and best practices to facility leadership and clinical staff
• Support surveys, audits, and regulatory reviews as needed
• Travel to assigned facilities to provide on-site consultation and training
