The North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections (NCDAC) is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons, Correction Enterprises, Division of Community Corrections, and Reentry Programs and Services.
We are recruiting for a Regional Maintenance Technician (Maintenance/Construction Technician III) to join the Piedmont Regional Maintenance Team. The position reports to the Piedmont Regional Maintenance Yard in Asheboro, NC, and involves completing preventative maintenance and system replacements.
The ideal candidate will have journeyman level experience in construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of systems such as concrete, carpentry, masonry, etc., with the ability to work independently, read blueprints, and perform related duties.
This full-time position (40 hours/week) requires daily commuting to Asheboro, NC, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, and potential weekend work and overnight travel. Salary ranges from $39,671 to $69,426, effective January 1, 2025, with state benefits including retirement, health insurance, vacation, sick leave, and holidays.

Minimum education and experience include a high school diploma or GED and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination. Certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal technician may be required.
