Job summary

MEF Maintenance is seeking a Regional Director of Maintenance to lead maintenance operations across Central Virginia's skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers. You will drive safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance while mentoring Directors and coordinating across Clinical Leadership and Operations.

The role requires hands-on leadership, regional travel, and proven ability to manage multi-site maintenance programs, budgets, and capital projects, ensuring safe and welcoming facilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred (equivalent experience considered)
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership experience
• Previous multi-site/regional maintenance leadership experience strongly preferred
• Healthcare, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, senior living, hospital, or related property management/hospitality maintenance experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, Fire Protection & Life Safety, Building automation, and CMS/OSHA/NFPA regulations
• Experience managing maintenance budgets and capital improvement projects
• Vendor management and project management skills
• Leadership and communication abilities
• Proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel across Central Virginia

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coaching to Maintenance Directors and regional teams
• Conduct regional facility inspections for Life Safety Code, CMS, OSHA, and local regulations
• Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment performance
• Lead Life Safety preparedness and assist during surveys, inspections, and emergencies
• Manage capital improvement projects, equipment replacements, and upgrades
• Monitor budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings
• Evaluate maintenance performance metrics and drive continuous improvement
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records
• Mentor Maintenance Directors and build regional teams
• Coordinate outside vendors and contractors for timely project completion
• Partner with Regional Operations and leadership to support goals
• Provide hands-on support during emergencies and major repairs
• Travel extensively within Central Virginia
