Job summary

The Amelia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Amelia, VA is seeking a Director of Maintenance to oversee all physical plant assets and the day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring safety and compliance with codes.

You will lead the maintenance team, manage budgets, schedule vendors, coordinate with department heads, and protect Residents' comfort, privacy and well-being while upholding a caring environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years' experience working in a building maintenance capacity.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all service and repair tasks as assigned.
• Operates the maintenance department in a safe manner by ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and following established policies and procedures.
• Ensures the physical building meets all safety and building codes.
• Schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies outside the scope of routine maintenance.
• Assists in emergency situations related to the physical plant and acts as the facility's safety officer.
• Ensure that regular equipment and systems maintenance schedules are monitored and followed at all times.
• Works with department heads to ensure routine maintenance in Resident care areas does not interfere with the care or safety of Residents.
• Responsible for operating the Maintenance Department within budgetary guidelines and limitations.
• Completes annual performance reviews of all subordinate staff. Provides guidance and education to staff in regards to their performance.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Associates degree in construction technology or similar field
