Qualifications

  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, and facility projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regional oversight for maintenance operations across multiple facilities
  • Lead capital planning, renovations, repairs, and facility improvement projects
  • Develop and monitor preventive maintenance programs
  • Support facility Maintenance Directors with operational and technical needs
  • Conduct facility and life‑safety inspections and identify corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, fire safety, building code, and other regulations
  • Monitor the condition and operation of facility infrastructure and equipment
  • Manage contractors and vendors for major repairs and capital projects
  • Train, support, and develop facility maintenance teams
  • Partner with facility and corporate leadership to prioritize maintenance and capital needs
  • Support emergency preparedness and life‑safety programs
  • Respond to facility emergencies involving fire, severe weather, flooding, hazardous materials
  • Lead or support evacuation efforts when necessary

Position Overview

Peaks Healthcare Consulting is seeking an experienced Regional Maintenance Director to oversee maintenance, physical plant operations, capital projects, and life safety across multiple long‑term care communities. This position serves as a regional resource for facility maintenance teams and leadership. The Regional Maintenance Director will help ensure our buildings are safe, well maintained, compliant, and operating effectively while supporting preventive maintenance, capital improvements, emergency preparedness, and major facility projects. The ideal candidate has extensive long‑term care maintenance experience, strong knowledge of building systems, and experience supporting multiple facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regional oversight and support for maintenance operations across multiple facilities
  • Lead capital planning, renovations, repairs, and facility improvement projects
  • Develop and monitor preventive maintenance programs
  • Support facility Maintenance Directors with operational and technical needs
  • Conduct facility and life‑safety inspections and identify needed corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, fire safety, building code, and other regulatory requirements
  • Monitor the condition and operation of facility infrastructure and equipment
  • Provide guidance related to roofs, flooring, boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Manage contractors and vendors for major repairs and capital projects
  • Monitor project quality, cost, and completion timelinesAssist with maintenance budgets, inventory, and resource planning
  • Train, support, and develop facility maintenance teams
  • Partner with facility and corporate leadership to prioritize maintenance and capital needs
  • Support emergency preparedness and life‑safety programs
  • Respond to facility emergencies involving fire, severe weather, flooding, hazardous materials, and other physical plant concerns
  • Lead or support evacuation efforts when necessary
  • Help resolve facility issues with minimal disruption to residents and operations
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience within the long‑term care industry
  • Must reside in Colorado or New Mexico
  • Ability and willingness to travel to nursing facilities as needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance and physical plant operations
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, and facility projects
  • Strong problem‑solving, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities across multiple facilities
  • Ability to work effectively with facility and corporate leadership
  • Commitment to maintaining safe and comfortable environments for seniors
