Responsibilities

• Coordinate outbound shipments across multiple sites to customers, warehouses, and distribution locations.
• Schedule transportation with approved carriers and the company's lead logistics provider.
• Monitor shipments in transit and proactively resolve delays, exceptions, and transportation issues.
• Expedite priority orders when needed.
• Build and maintain reporting on transportation performance and freight spend, including Excel data prep.
• Support OTIF targets and provide delivery updates to stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve transportation-related customer complaints.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documentation and records for domestic and international compliance.
• Maintain accurate shipment data within the TMS and ERP systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve transportation performance and freight cost management.
• Partner with Customer Service, Planning, Warehouse Operations, and Supply Chain teams to keep orders moving and flag risks.

Job description

This is a newly created position on a three-person logistics team coordinating shipment activity across multiple sites. Team members are positioned strategically across locations, and this role carries regional scope — managing outbound freight for several smaller sites rather than a single plant. The role works in close partnership with the company's lead logistics provider and sits at the center of communication between Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, and carriers.

This position carries a strong data and reporting component. Beyond day-to-day shipment coordination, this person will own reporting, data preparation, and analysis that supports freight cost management and transportation performance — and the role is expected to lean further into that analytical focus over time.

This is a fast-moving, less structured environment. Standard operating procedures aren't fully built out yet, so this role suits someone who's comfortable going with the flow, building process where it's missing, and figuring things out without a playbook handed to them.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate outbound shipments across multiple sites to customers, warehouses, and distribution locations
• Schedule transportation with approved carriers and the company's lead logistics provider
• Monitor shipments in transit and proactively resolve delays, exceptions, and transportation issues
• Expedite priority orders when needed
• Build and maintain reporting on transportation performance, freight spend, and shipment visibility — including data preparation and analysis in Excel
• Support achievement of OTIF (On Time In Full) targets and provide delivery updates to Customer Service and internal stakeholders
• Investigate and resolve transportation-related customer complaints
• Prepare and maintain shipping documentation and transportation records, supporting domestic and international compliance requirements
• Maintain accurate shipment data within the TMS and ERP systems
• Identify improvement opportunities in transportation performance and support freight cost management initiatives
• Partner with Customer Service, Planning, Warehouse Operations, and Supply Chain teams to keep orders moving and flag delivery risks early

What We're Looking For

• Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations — backgrounds can range from transportation professionals to strong customer service candidates with freight exposure
• Multi-site coordination experience, or enough tenure to handle regional scope across several locations
• Advanced Excel skills with proven experience in reporting, data preparation, and analysis
• Practical understanding of transportation cost drivers and how freight pricing works
• Working knowledge of transit distances, routing, and DOT hours-of-service rules
• Strong multi-tasking ability in a high-volume, interruption-heavy environment
• An outgoing, communicative personality — this role is on the phone and in front of people constantly, and is not a fit for someone who prefers heads-down, solo work
• Comfort operating in an environment where processes are still being built
