Job summary

Livestock Nutrition Center seeks a Merchandiser to drive straight and direct ingredient sales and to support regional merchandising efforts. You will coordinate with the Ingredient Sales Lead on strategies by commodity and season, pursue procurement opportunities, and negotiate with suppliers to sustain strong partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of merchandising or ingredient sales experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong negotiating and math skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute straight and direct ingredient sales and merchandising to meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with the Ingredient Sales Lead to develop selling strategies by commodity and season.
• Identify and pursue ingredient procurement opportunities when applicable.
• Negotiate with suppliers while maintaining long-term relationships with the supplier base.
• Actively assess risk within company commodity positions.
• Oversee contracts and ensure timely shipments with suppliers and customers.
• Work with locations to minimize demurrage costs and shrink issues.
• Coordinate with the Reseller market to optimize locations and positions.
• Understand logistical processes including barge, rail, and truck logistics.
• Follow current credit and receivables policies.
