Job summary

Livestock Nutrition Center LLC is seeking a motivated Logistics Specialist to provide logistical, administrative, and customer service support to the Commodity Merchandising team. Responsibilities include coordinating freight, data entry into the contract management system, and maintaining accurate contract balances.

You will schedule truck, rail, and barge shipments, develop reports, and ensure exceptional service to customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• High school degree required.
• 2-year Associates degree preferred.
• Experience in truck scheduling and rate negotiation preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to multitask and work independently or in a team.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient computer skills and agricultural experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service internally and externally.
• Provide logistical support to Merchandisers with truck, rail, and barge shipments.
• Daily data entry into contract management system, creating contracts and updating shipment data.
• Develop and maintain reports from the contract management system.
• Schedule inbound/outbound ingredient deliveries for company and commercial vehicles.
• Ensure timely and courteous service to customers and suppliers.
• Coordinate daily with local rail service for shipments.
• Handle phone activity during peak periods and reroute calls as needed.
• Assist with additional office duties as assigned.
