Job summary

VGW is seeking a Regional Lead for Government & Industry Affairs to translate lobbying strategy into state-specific campaigns. You will oversee external lobbyists, build relationships with state officials, and deliver field intelligence to central leadership.

The role offers remote work within the United States and reports to the VP of Government Relations. The ideal candidate has 7–12+ years in state government or lobbying, can manage vendors, understands gaming regulation, and has credibility

Qualifications

• 7–12+ years of state government, lobbying, or campaigns experience with multiple legislatures or agencies.
• Experience managing external vendors or contract lobbyists against defined deliverables.
• Knowledge of gaming regulation, sweepstakes, consumer protection, or related policy areas.
• Strong relationships with government officials in the assigned region.
• Experience in fast-moving industries such as technology, fintech, or gaming.
• Proficiency with legislative tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage external lobbyists in the regional portfolio, set expectations, monitor deliverables, and provide performance feedback.
• Translate VGW's policy positions into state-specific advocacy messaging.
• Build and maintain relationships with state legislators, staff, attorneys general offices, and regulators.
• Collaborate with cross-regional teams to align messaging and coordinate campaigns.
• Represent VGW at hearings, fundraisers, conferences, and stakeholder events.
• Monitor legislation affecting social gaming, sweepstakes, consumer protection, and related policy areas.
