Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Director of Laboratory Region to lead and coordinate laboratory services across BSWH hospitals, clinics, and facilities. You will plan programs for practice efficiency, quality, productivity, and patient safety, and develop system-wide approaches to manage BSWH clinical laboratories.

You will advise leadership, partner with clinical operations, and drive best practices while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above minimum qualification.
• 3+ years of operations experience in laboratory, pathology, healthcare, or related area.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of laboratory operations and quality management.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, clinicians, and leadership.
• Laboratory certifications preferred (MT/MLS/CHT/etc.).

Responsibilities

• Directs laboratory and pathology services for BSWH areas of responsibility.
• Defines strategic and operational plans for laboratory services aligned with BSWH goals.
• Manages daily lab operations, specimen processing, testing, and result reporting.
• Oversees purchasing, equipment, and invoicing for laboratory services.
• Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Leads improvement teams focused on quality, efficiency, and patient care outcomes.
