Job summary

The Regional Culinary Operations Manager oversees daily kitchen operations across Brookings, Milbank, Moody County, Vermillion, and Yankton clubs, coordinating nutritious meals and snacks that meet dietary guidelines while ensuring food safety and compliance with health codes.

You will manage inventory, menu planning, staff supervision, grant reporting, and nutrition education initiatives, partnering with program staff to support club events and community meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or nutrition training is a plus.
• Experience in food preparation, kitchen management, or food service preferred.
• Knowledge of USDA meal patterns and CACFP is a plus.
• Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee nutritious snacks, lunches, and suppers in compliance with dietary guidelines.
• Create and maintain monthly menus that meet nutrition needs across sites.
• Manage food inventory, ordering, and deliveries, including unloading stock.
• Ensure proper food storage, preparation, and service per safety standards.
• Audit kitchen cleanliness and organization at each Unit.
• Lead the implementation, documentation, and reporting of food-related grants and compliance.
• Collaborate with program staff to develop nutrition education and cafe programming.
• Support food service for Club events and community gatherings.
• Supervise kitchen staff and provide performance feedback to Unit Directors.
• Attend staff meetings and ensure timely team communication.
