Position
Theatrical Rigging Regional Installer – installing, inspecting, and maintaining rigging systems for theatrical production, live events, and performance venues. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with theatrical rigging hardware, a strong understanding of safety standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in dynamic environments. This role contributes to Wenger Corporation’s mission of delivering exceptional customer experience through safe, efficient, and high-quality rigging installations for performing arts centers, theaters, schools, and athletic facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience working in a construction environment on rigging, carpentry or related trade in the performing arts industry or adjacent field.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment lifts and fork trucks.
- Comfortable working at heights and using aerial lifts, scaffolding, and ladders ranging from 40’–80’.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to travel extensively with overnight stays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of performing arts industry.
- Prior experience installing theatrical or entertainment rigging systems.
- Experience safely trouble shooting and maintaining all aspects of rigging.
- ETCP (Entertainment Technician Certification Program) certification or willingness to pursue certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training.
- Welding, electrical, or control systems experience.
- Computer skills and aptitude, especially Word, Bluebeam and Excel.
Typical Day – Responsibilities
- Planning and Execution: Interpret project drawings and specs to define scope and constraints; develop OSHA-compliant installation methods aligned with Wenger standards; support scheduling and coordination with project managers, general contractors and tradesmen.
- On-Site Leadership: Lead as installer onsite, organize installation activities for efficiency and safety; supervise and mentor crew members to meet quality standards; manage third-party labor for cost-effective operations.
- Compliance & Documentation: Complete daily reports, time logs, onboarding and safety paperwork; participate in GC/CM-led safety and planning meetings; enforce compliance with safety laws and industry regulations.
- Client Interaction & Problem Solving: Serve as primary client contact for installation-related matters; provide issue reports with recommendations and photo documentation; troubleshoot and resolve on-site challenges promptly.
- Travel & Flexibility: Travel domestically and internationally to support various projects.
